CHATT POOJA SINDOOR

We did Sindoor packaging, aligning it with the Blue Heaven brand, recognizing that Sindoor holds great significance in India, especially for married women. This project aimed to celebrate the cultural importance of Sindoor while creating a strong market presence. We sought to evoke emotions of pride and connection to tradition through our design.

As we explored our project, we recognized the significance of Chatt Pooja in Bihar, despite its limited recognition. To raise awareness for this festival, we decided to incorporate its elements into our sindoor packaging. We highlighted the unique way Bihari women apply sindoor on their foreheads, making it a focal point of our design approach.

After extensive research, we established the measurements and dimensions for the packaging, accounting for both powder and liquid Sindoor. This process led us to develop a unique mechanism: by pulling the box from one side, it automatically opens from the other, facilitating easy application of Sindoor.

ART BY THE DESIGNER 

For the illustrations, we researched Bihari women, capturing small details to ensure authenticity and give the packaging a true Bihari feel. We carefully selected a color palette that reflected their culture and the essence of Chatt Pooja. Ultimately, we created two different types of illustrations to represent the richness of this tradition.

With the packaging design finalized, we seamlessly blended the cultural significance of Sindoor and Chatt Pooja into a cohesive product. Our innovative mechanism and thoughtful illustrations not only celebrate Bihari traditions but also invite a broader recognition of the Chatt Pooja festival, creating a unique and meaningful experience for consumers.

THE CREATIVE UNblock

This project deepened my understanding of Sindoor's cultural significance and the Chatt Pooja festival. Balancing tradition with innovative design posed challenges, but thorough research and community insights were essential in creating authentic packaging.
