I was tasked with refreshing the identities of Westend, a luxurious five-star hotel in Ahmedabad, for its three distinct brands: Mayflower (restaurant), Lotus (banquet), and Oasis (coffee shop). My goal was to create logos that embody a minimalistic design while capturing the traditional essence of Ahmedabad’s rich heritage. Each logo needed to resonate emotionally with visitors, reflecting the unique atmosphere and experiences each venue offers.
RESONATING EMOTIONS

LET'S VALIDATE THE PROBLEM
I noticed that the existing logos lacked the cultural connection and refinement that the hotel aimed to convey. Recognizing the need for a cohesive yet distinctive logo for each brand, I explored local architectural patterns and the historical significance of Ahmedabad.
I began with an in-depth analysis of the current logos and by examining local design references and traditional motifs, I ideated logos that embody minimalism while embracing traditional aesthetics. This process included sketching, selecting typefaces, and exploring various design elements.

CREATIVE OVERTHINKING
I crafted a curated mood board that established the visual identity for each brand, selecting color palettes that reflect their unique atmospheres: coffee brown shades for Oasis, grey tones for Lotus, and refreshing greens for Mayflower.

CREATIVE UNblock
This project not only allowed me to reimagine the identities of Westend's brands but also deepened my understanding of the powerful connection between design and cultural heritage. By exploring Ahmedabad's architectural motifs and history, I learned how to translate traditional elements into modern, minimalistic designs that resonate with a contemporary audience.
